Forgotten Children Worldwide empowers natives to care for their own children. We do not believe in building American orphan care ministries, but coming alongside those that already exist and helping them do what they do better. We work with ministries around the world, providing practical resources, help and guidance. We partner with ministries who share a similar vision for orphan care. In every situation, FCW comes alongside an established team with physical, financial and human resources, encouragement, prayer and training. At our core, we want our partner ministries to become self-sufficient and self-sustainability. Ultimately, we strive for the day when they will not need our guidance and our support. We believe strongly in holistic care and work on improving the care that all children receive. In the end, we work to:
- safeguard and lift children from extreme poverty
- prevent child trafficking
- give children hope by introducing them to Jesus Christ
Our staff is small by design. With only one full-time employee on staff, volunteers play a critical role in the operation and success of the organization. We see people as our greatest resource and work to strengthen relationships between staff, volunteers, partners, donors, the local community and ultimately Jesus.
FCW’s work is founded in the Biblical call to care for orphans:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans…” (James 1:27)
“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.” (Psalm 82:3)
We affirm God’s scriptural promises of faithfulness, care and provision for orphans and vulnerable children. We strive to live out God’s mandate to care for orphans not only through our actions, but also through our heart and attitude. We seek to be an advocate for orphans, recognizing that without a strong advocate they will likely suffer from oppression, abuse and injustice. This call is the driving force behind everything that we do as an organization. Our team is fueled by the hope and promise of a God who never tires in His relentless pursuit of the orphan child. Seeing hearts healed and futures restored is our passion as a ministry. We believe this is God’s desire for the fatherless and we are privileged to be a part of the process.
