Bluffton, IN – Forgotten Children Worldwide (FCW), 650 N Main St., has
outgrown its space for its annual Dinner and Benefit Auction; consequently, it
is expanding the event with two nights of activities to accommodate more
people.
“Last year, we sold out of the 450 tickets and had a waiting list,” said
Matt Hartsell, founder and executive director.
“We made changes to accommodate the increasing number of people wishing to
partner with our ministry to orphans and vulnerable children, and to help
prevent human trafficking.”
On
Sunday doors will open and the Silent Auction will start at 6:30 p.m. for the
Concert Night, which will begin at 7 p.m. The
evening will feature Regeneration, a worship band from Fort
Wayne, and will be emceed by ShelbyLynn from STAR 88.3. Desserts and
gourmet coffees will be served.
Robert Rogers, a man
who lost his wife and four children in an accident in 2003, will share briefly
at the Annual Dinner and Benefit on Monday night his inspirational story and
love for orphans. Doors will open and the Silent Auction will start at
5:30 p.m. on Monday, and the dinner will be served at 6:25 p.m.
Because FCW is primarily run by volunteers, FCW recently brought in
Emily Meyers, of Monroe and a Huntington University student, as an intern to
assist with the promotion and marketing of these events. “We are excited to have Emily with us, as she
is knowledgeable and excited about our mission,” said Natalie Millard,
administrative manager for FCW.
Funds raised during the evening and $25 per month
child sponsorships will
help provide orphan children with an education, critical food, medical care and
spiritual instruction.
“One hundred percent of every
dollar given to sponsor a child through FCW goes directly to assisting orphans
and vulnerable children globally,” explained Matt Hartsell, FCW founder and executive
director. “Gifts to our
Forgotten Fund
pave the way for new projects,
self-sustainability projects, and our minimal administrative costs.”
